As I’ve tried to be a teen online entrepreneur in the past couple years, I know a lot about common mistakes that can be made. So here are the three common mistakes, that basically, I have made during my short webmaster career.
1. Getting a Job
If you’re a teen, and you don’t need a job, don’t get one. Instead, spend that time working on websites, and aim to create one to three high quality niche blogs (but not too niche). A part time job will net you under $2,000, and that income will disappear forever after the summer break. As an alternative, if you create three good sites, after about six months they will start to generate some profit. Then after a year, they can easily make $80/month each, which puts their value at $1,000 each. Sure, you’ll have to spend all year working on the blogs and not just the summer, but it’s a flexible income and sets you up for future profits that can be a lot better than any part time high school job.
2. Not starting early
So many people sit around and plan what they want to do, and then fail to execute their plan. They fail because they’re too busy making “a plan” that will work. For new teen online entrepreneurs, it’s important to just start! Buy a domain and hosting, and set up a Wordpress blog. It’s not expensive, and it’s not hard.
The first blog can be mainly just for learning the ropes about how to be a webmaster (Personal blogs are good for this). Then after you get the hang of it, start up a new blog about something that interests you and use your new skills to make money.
3. Not setting goals
This is a huge one. I hated setting goals, and I still do. Why? Goals bring pressure, and they don’t allow you to be lazy. This is a huge deal when you’re a teen, because usually teens don’t want to be bothered by something that they don’t “have to.”
After young webmasters are somewhat educated, when monetizing a blog, it’s very important to set profit and revenue goals. Then to help yourself achieve the long term goals, use todo lists and set short term goals regarding things that will help you grow your revenue in the long run.

Excellent points, I´m adding you to my top Blog 3 list! I especially like number 2, I wish I had started far earlier than I did.
